Back in late September 2009 I wrote a song called “Rise Up America” and recorded it after seeing all the chaos go down at the G20 summit in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I made a call for anyone who wanted to record this song to do so and to even change the words to their own country so that it is more personal.

It’s been a little while now but we’ve now got another version and from Italy. :)

Here are the two songs for Italy and America together:

Download the Italian version here for free:

Here is my original song with video from the G20 Summit:

I recently got an email from an Italian artist simply known as Alex or “d0ct0r” who heard my song and wanted very much to record it and make his own version for Italy. He sent it to me and this is what you are listening to. I like it very much.

Now that Italy is involved with the spirit behind the original song, my call still goes out for others to get involved. It’s up to us to take our world back from fear and destruction. We must rise above fear and anxiety!

Let’s keep this song chain going. It is important to get the spirit of optimism out. Thanks Alex!

Here’s previous post on Rise Up America.

Pounding the pavement.
Practicing in a tent.
Keeping it real.
What’s the deal?

America’s not the same.
It seems more and more lame.
I’m not giving in.
It makes my head spin.

Where’s the change?
It must be in me.
No one else will change.
I’m listening to La Grange.

No one’s gonna rescue us.
Should we just fuss and cuss?
No, better pound the pavement.
I got my shovel ready.

Listen to the song here:

I will not be conned into believing
There is no hope.
I will not be conned into believing
There is not a good person left.
I will not be conned into believing
That racism is the root cause.

I will not be conned into believing
There is no God.
I will not be conned into believing
All men are scoundrels.
I will not be conned into believing.
All women are sluts.

Get up now.
It’s alright.
Get up now.
It’s alright.

I will not be conned into believing.
There is no answer.
I will not be conned into believing.
There is nothing we can do.
I will not be conned into believing.
There is not purpose in life.

I will not be conned into believing
There’s only hope in the government.
I will not be conned into believing.
America is not a Christian nation.
I will not be conned into believing.
Rush Limbaugh is our answer.

Get up now.
It’s alright.
Get up now.
It’s alright.

I will not be conned into believing.
Chris Matthews is our answer.
I will not be conned into believing.
Sean Hannity is our answer.
I will not be conned into believing.
Socialism is the way to change.

I will not be conned into believing
That the Republicans are right.
I will not be conned into believing.
That the Democrats are right.
I will not be conned into believing.
That we know everything about 9-11.

Get up now.
It’s alright.
Get up now.
It’s alright.

I will not be conned into believing.
That Obama is a big peacemaker.
I will not be conned into believing
That political correctness is the best.
I will not be conned into believing
That pills will improve our lives.

I will not be conned into believing
That our time heals all wounds.
I will not be conned into believing.
That we don’t know what to do.
I will not be conned into believing
That we’re not okay.

Get up now.
It’s alright.
Get up now.
It’s alright.

I got four other verses
Can you sing? but you get my point.
You gotta keep on going.
You gotta get off your butt.

There are those that never leave America.
They believe it’s a great utopia.
They spew out their arrogance.
And live in their racist trance.

They say, “the west is the best.”
And they forbid any foreign guest.
They push the “American Dreams”
But it’s not what it seems.

It’s a neverending chase for wealth
That will destroy your health.
They rule now by fear.
Always saying, “The end could be near.”

What ever happened to living by faith?
And the Golden Rule that the Lord did saith?
They speak of worse case scenarios
While they eat their morning Cheerios.

They believe their 401K and insurance plans will save them.
They will not; it’s only by Him.
They talk of jobs nonstop.
They work ’til they pop, flop, and drop.

America the Cult rules the world
With its brainwashing media face.
The foundation is torn apart
With each little fear alert.

Don’t care what you think. I love America and feel that something is VERY wrong here and that I must call the American leadership out. Poem was written on 3/7/2007 while living abroad in Bulgaria as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Yes I’m back now and fighting the Good Fight.

Road trip shenanigans. Part of the 2010 “Take My Life Back” tour.

Part 1

Part 2

It’s a joke. Obama gets to joke around with his propaganda press conferences so I thought I would too.

Here’s my latest song I wrote and recorded last night. Enjoy!

World’s Angriest Hippie

You’re really a bit mad
You’re not a fad.
Not even bad.
Maybe just sad.

You keep us in line.
And doing fine.
We’re all mad too.
We’re all a little bit blue.

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

Instrumental break

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

You’re getting Understood.
It must feel good.
You’re music is the weapon.
Falling down from the internet zeppelin.

Keep your ideas flowing.
Your planted seeds are growin
The truth is your friend.
And it’s blowing in the wind.

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

You’re just a bit mad
And not a fad
We’re sad.

Here’s a song I recorded today and I adapted the text of the Declaration of Independence. If you are an American and don’t recognize these words it is clearly sad. I changed it up a little but not much. LET’S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!

Please share this song everywhere.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
We’re all created equal,
And given by our Creator
certain unalienable rights,

life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
We are all created equal,
And given by our Creator
certain unalienable rights,

life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Improvised this lo-fi psychedelic song last night and someone’s phone rang but I kept it going like we should keep America going. America, wake up from your sleep! Download the song and pass around or RE-RECORD yourself.

Share alike. If you’re from another country besides the U.S. please insert your own country in the lyric instead and record it. We really need to work together. This Global Government thing is a bit off.

Words:

Rise up America.
Rise Up.

Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.
Rise Up America.
Rise.

phone goes off

Rise Up America.
Rise.
Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.
Rise Up America.
Rise.

Greetings my fellow peace haters.

I come today to accept my Nobel Peace Prize. It is an honor to receive such an award. It is a funny day. I fooled you guys. I’m laughing my head off now.

Afghanistan, get ready for our troops. Get out the heroin. We’re gonna have a party like there ain’t no tomorrow. Dig it! Word.

And for you haters, who didn’t vote me in, you’re gonna have your rights taken from you. I got some other “Peace” projects in the works.

Let me tell you. You guys know about the “Patriot Act”? We’re gonna rev that thing up a notch. Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Ghandi, and Moses, you all got nothing on me. You be hatin’ on me and I don’t like you guys talkin’ trash about my reputation. Big deal. I hung out with some thugs in Chicago. That’s where I get my ideas. So this prize goes to all those thugs that supported me in the past.

You ask ,”Where do we go from here?” I go up to the top. We’re gonna create a welfare state. In my opinion, this will bring “peace”. What a better way to demobilize and demoralize the American people. It’s a psychological game that I am winning at. I’ll get you where it counts: the brain. Now you will think that government is the only source for help.

This is where I rise up. Oh my gosh. The power that I get. You guys get smashed and I rise.

Dig it! I’m on my game, American people. The check’s in the mail.

You may have objections about me and this peace prize. Don’t worry, I’m on your side. “Yes We Can! Yes We Can!” You remember? I’m so up there.

Al Gore and I are making plans to control the world. You guys are incapable of having any sort of feelings. Keep playing your games and watching Oprah.

Take your damn pills! We got ya! Oh, one other thing. Take you swine flu shot.

Long live the Republic! Peace out, America!

Things To Consider:

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

Thomas Jefferson

“The Framers [of the Constitution] knew that free speech is the friend of change and revolution. But they also knew that it is always the deadliest enemy of tyranny.”

Hugo Black

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to = remain silent.”

Thomas Jefferson

“The offspring of riches: Pride, vanity, ostentation, arrogance, tyranny”

Mark Twain

“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Ben Franklin

Let’s break it down. I may be wrong but let’s see.

1. Are you burdened by student loans that force you to work jobs you really do not like so that you can pay it back?

2. Are you underneath a mortgage on a home?

3. Do you pay loans are your car?

4. Are you able to get up and go anywhere you want?

5. Do you bring your work home with you? (If you enjoy your work, then that’s a different story).

6. Are you so obsessed with the latest gadgets and things?

7. Do you have a lot of credit card debt?

8. Are you happy and satisfied or at least moving towards what you perceive to get you there?

9. Would you keep working your job for free because you like it?

10. Are you doing overtime just to stay afloat and not go into the tank?

11. Do you have free time to do the things you enjoy?

12. When was the last time you got up and felt you were really making a difference?

13. Are you burdened down with fear?

14. Are you too busy?

Solutions:

Don’t watch T.V.
Rent or share a home with someone.
Stop buying things.
Quit your job and do something worthwhile.
Turn on, tune in and drop out. :)
Take some risks.
Do your part.
Become self-reliant.
Create yourself, do not let others create you.
Resist greed, anxiety, depression and fear.
Help others.

Now if you’re buried under debt and such, I wouldn’t suggest turning on tuning in and dropping out but I’d suggest really finding out what makes you happy and to move in that direction at least. It has been a long road for me and I’m still working on it and I’m rather on the debt free side but just looking for my niche that is helpful to society and to me.

I told my uncle once that if it takes me 50 years to get there, then it takes me 50 years to get there.
