Please Listen, Download and Enjoy!!

The “Rise” album is a set of songs, that I hope, capture the times in which we live.

At the heart of it all is the message to stay true and be happy amongst the chaos in the world that is often pushed at us through the propaganda lense of the media.

The songs were done in a rough do-it-yourself lo-fi Psychedelic folk-freak way because this is what I do. Some of the songs were rather improvised especially with the lyric.

“Rise Up America” was written just about the time of the G20 summit in Pittsburg in September 2009. It is meant to be a sort of wake up call for Americans and also people around the world. It has already been recorded by an artist in Italy.

Please feel free to record your own version if you wish and post back at Jamendo or elsewhere. I give you permission. Details about song is here:

http://jimguittard.com/?p=677

The album was recorded on my 8-Track Tascam machine in Portland, Oregon, Dallas, Texas, and Sofia, Bulgaria.

Credits:
Jim Guittard: Lead and background vocals, electric lead and rhythm guitars, acoustic 12-string guitar, bass, shakers, percussion, drums, keyboard, and effects.

My wife helped out on the vocal for Roller Coaster Ride.

All music is written by Jim Guittard.

All lyrics are written by Jim Guittard with the exception of “Independence” which the words are adapted from the “Declaration of Independence.”

Mixed, recorded, and edited by myself.

Back in late September 2009 I wrote a song called “Rise Up America” and recorded it after seeing all the chaos go down at the G20 summit in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I made a call for anyone who wanted to record this song to do so and to even change the words to their own country so that it is more personal.

It’s been a little while now but we’ve now got another version and from Italy. :)

Here are the two songs for Italy and America together:

Download the Italian version here for free:

Here is my original song with video from the G20 Summit:

I recently got an email from an Italian artist simply known as Alex or “d0ct0r” who heard my song and wanted very much to record it and make his own version for Italy. He sent it to me and this is what you are listening to. I like it very much.

Now that Italy is involved with the spirit behind the original song, my call still goes out for others to get involved. It’s up to us to take our world back from fear and destruction. We must rise above fear and anxiety!

Let’s keep this song chain going. It is important to get the spirit of optimism out. Thanks Alex!

Here’s previous post on Rise Up America.

All the best,

Here’s my latest song I wrote and recorded last night. Enjoy!

World’s Angriest Hippie

You’re really a bit mad
You’re not a fad.
Not even bad.
Maybe just sad.

You keep us in line.
And doing fine.
We’re all mad too.
We’re all a little bit blue.

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

Instrumental break

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

You’re getting Understood.
It must feel good.
You’re music is the weapon.
Falling down from the internet zeppelin.

Keep your ideas flowing.
Your planted seeds are growin
The truth is your friend.
And it’s blowing in the wind.

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

You’re just a bit mad
And not a fad
We’re sad.

I found this guy named Sean Kraft before Christmas who has apparently been on a Hunger Strike for 45 days.

45 days???

Yes.  I do not know him personally and have really no way of knowing for sure if it is true but it is worth the media looking into at the very least.

Why is he striking?

Because of the current situation in the U.S. The Government seems to want to take more and more control and it is ever increasingly hard to have a life, liberty and to pursue happiness. Some people probably don’t feel this control because maybe they are too zonked out, distracted, playing games, basically just going around in circles in the rat race, or for other unknown causes.

So I am gonna report on him. He is demanding to talk to the “We the People Foundation” and get in touch eventually with the Continental Congress of 2009 and have a 3 minute press conference.

The mission of the We The People Foundation is:

1. To protect, preserve and enhance the unalienable rights, liberties and freedoms of the people.
2. To teach people that under our system of governance all power comes from the people and all government is limited by our written constitutions.
3. To help people become better informed about the history and meaning of every provision of the Declaration of Independence and their State and federal constitutions.
4. To help people become better informed about what is really going on in government.
5. To help people become better informed about how to confront unconstitutional and illegal behavior by those wielding power in government at all levels.
6. To institutionalize vigilance by the ordinary, nonaligned citizen-voter-taxpayers.

Sean has been posting daily on his weight change and you can read more about him at his site:

He also has a youtube channel at:

Please look into it.

Here’s a song I recorded today and I adapted the text of the Declaration of Independence. If you are an American and don’t recognize these words it is clearly sad. I changed it up a little but not much. LET’S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!

Please share this song everywhere.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
We’re all created equal,
And given by our Creator
certain unalienable rights,

life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
We are all created equal,
And given by our Creator
certain unalienable rights,

life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Improvised this lo-fi psychedelic song last night and someone’s phone rang but I kept it going like we should keep America going. America, wake up from your sleep! Download the song and pass around or RE-RECORD yourself.

Share alike. If you’re from another country besides the U.S. please insert your own country in the lyric instead and record it. We really need to work together. This Global Government thing is a bit off.

Words:

Rise up America.
Rise Up.

Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.
Rise Up America.
Rise.

phone goes off

Rise Up America.
Rise.
Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.

Rise Up America.
Rise.
Rise Up America.
Rise.

Greetings my fellow peace haters.

I come today to accept my Nobel Peace Prize. It is an honor to receive such an award. It is a funny day. I fooled you guys. I’m laughing my head off now.

Afghanistan, get ready for our troops. Get out the heroin. We’re gonna have a party like there ain’t no tomorrow. Dig it! Word.

And for you haters, who didn’t vote me in, you’re gonna have your rights taken from you. I got some other “Peace” projects in the works.

Let me tell you. You guys know about the “Patriot Act”? We’re gonna rev that thing up a notch. Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Ghandi, and Moses, you all got nothing on me. You be hatin’ on me and I don’t like you guys talkin’ trash about my reputation. Big deal. I hung out with some thugs in Chicago. That’s where I get my ideas. So this prize goes to all those thugs that supported me in the past.

You ask ,”Where do we go from here?” I go up to the top. We’re gonna create a welfare state. In my opinion, this will bring “peace”. What a better way to demobilize and demoralize the American people. It’s a psychological game that I am winning at. I’ll get you where it counts: the brain. Now you will think that government is the only source for help.

This is where I rise up. Oh my gosh. The power that I get. You guys get smashed and I rise.

Dig it! I’m on my game, American people. The check’s in the mail.

You may have objections about me and this peace prize. Don’t worry, I’m on your side. “Yes We Can! Yes We Can!” You remember? I’m so up there.

Al Gore and I are making plans to control the world. You guys are incapable of having any sort of feelings. Keep playing your games and watching Oprah.

Take your damn pills! We got ya! Oh, one other thing. Take you swine flu shot.

Long live the Republic! Peace out, America!

Things To Consider:

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

Thomas Jefferson

“The Framers [of the Constitution] knew that free speech is the friend of change and revolution. But they also knew that it is always the deadliest enemy of tyranny.”

Hugo Black

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to = remain silent.”

Thomas Jefferson

“The offspring of riches: Pride, vanity, ostentation, arrogance, tyranny”

Mark Twain

“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Ben Franklin

Music and art can change our World for the good. You already know how chaotic it is these days if you are awake: Swine Flu hype, G20 Riots, Vaccinations, Nuclear Standoffs, RFID chips, health care arguments, economy, Iraq War, terrorism, the New World Order, 1st amendment violations, unemployment, and the list can go on and on.

Now if we all rise up together we can push the oppressive things out of the way. I have compiled a Jamendo only playlist of artists I really like because of their honesty and musical quality. Please download at the link below and pass around. We can do this. It isn’t over and as long as we are breathing we can do something.

And here is another idea: If you can play guitar or piano, sing or write, get going and make a song about whatever you are going through. No matter what. Flood the internet with your viewpoint. Let’s not give in to the elite bullies in charge who want to manipulate, con and destroy us with their fear-mongering. These are all distractions.

if you paint or draw do that, too. Flood the internet with your world. We have more numbers behind us than those elite. They hide behind their power and wealth. Come and get going.

Make youtube videos, too and post. Do it!
