I recorded this one back on February 26, 2004 to be exact on my 4-track Tascam machine. I was dog/house sitting for Steven Collins (founder of Deadman) at his pad and he let me use his instruments to record and obviously I wanted to rise to the occasion that came knocking. I used his Rhodes keyboard to get a nice 60s vibe. The piece has not been revealed to the public until now as the song had been buried among the “Guittard Tapes” for almost 10 years.

Wake up, my brother!

Is it real or fake?
The world’s life’s at stake.
We watch the television.
And all can say could this be?

Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
We’re gonna die!

Why all of these things?
We just need our wings.
We work to the max.
As if we’re on the right tracks.

Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
We’re gonna die!

We’re all too busy.
In our own worlds of me.
Take time to say a prayer.
That we all might become aware.

Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
Wake up, my brother.
The time is now.
We’re gonna die!

Wake Up, My Brother

Traveling around from California to Texas I captured a billboard that only had the word “Forgive” on it. It caught my eye and I turned the car around to go film it. I’m glad I did because I think it’s a good message we all need in this divisive world we live in.

The next video combines the image of a windmill in West Texas that I captured on my way back to Texas from California where my car broke down. It was a peaceful sight. The song that I added is an instrumental called “Tremolo Instrumental”. It was written and recorded in and around 2002 the first time I lived in Los Angeles.

James 3:6

New International Version (NIV)

6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Probably it would be something like this if “Uncle Sam” were a real person today. I think arguing the left/right thing is a waste of time. It’s an allusion. They are one and the same and it is only a distraction.

It’s like this:

All the same. Wake up! The division is killing us but what do I know? Nothing. This is what they want. Keep attacking the other side instead of working together. Shameful at what is happening here! Bottom line.

It’s all fun, right? Point fingers, slander, and mock, etc, etc, etc.

Get real! Wake up! Our future depends on it. Bottom line.

They can’t get with it. Can the American People????

More dividing name-calling:
Southerner Vs. Northerner
Yankee Vs. Rebel
Liberal Vs. Conservative
Mexican American Vs. White American
Black Vs. White
Evangelical Vs. Athiest
Christian Vs. Muslim
Lower Class Vs. Upper Class
Middle Class Vs. Lower Class
Upper Class Vs. Lower Class
Gay Vs. Straight, etc., etc.

ALL AMERICANS! Get over it! Too much specialization.

Wrote this one in Bulgaria in 2008 while I was a Peace Corps Volunteer but it applies even more today to the current political situations. More division than I have every seen. Where is the leadership? No where to be found. Not the best sound quality.

We’ve got to preserve our health.
It is all for ourself.
People are running scared.
Just like they haven’t cared.

Some turn to the booze.
This isn’t what I choose.
Which is the way?
Certainly there’s a new day.

Chorus

We’re all in survival mode.
We carry big load.
We’re all in survival mode.
We carry big load.

Arguments and tempers flare.
This I don’t wish to bear.
There’s no point to this.
Better avoid and miss.

We live within our cave.
Wishing only to save.
Our egos cause problems.
With pride we wear our emblems.

Chorus

We’re all in survival mode.
We carry big load.
We’re all in survival mode.
We carry big load.

We make shady deals.
so we can eat our meals.
We keep up the front.
In our power hunt.

Have faith in one another.
We’re brother and sister.
Fight through the pain.
We’re all the same.

Back in late September 2009 I wrote a song called “Rise Up America” and recorded it after seeing all the chaos go down at the G20 summit in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I made a call for anyone who wanted to record this song to do so and to even change the words to their own country so that it is more personal.

It’s been a little while now but we’ve now got another version and from Italy. 🙂

Here are the two songs for Italy and America together:

Download the Italian version here for free:

Here is my original song with video from the G20 Summit:

I recently got an email from an Italian artist simply known as Alex or “d0ct0r” who heard my song and wanted very much to record it and make his own version for Italy. He sent it to me and this is what you are listening to. I like it very much.

Now that Italy is involved with the spirit behind the original song, my call still goes out for others to get involved. It’s up to us to take our world back from fear and destruction. We must rise above fear and anxiety!

Let’s keep this song chain going. It is important to get the spirit of optimism out. Thanks Alex!

There are those that never leave America.
They believe it’s a great utopia.
They spew out their arrogance.
And live in their racist trance.

They say, “the west is the best.”
And they forbid any foreign guest.
They push the “American Dreams”
But it’s not what it seems.

It’s a neverending chase for wealth
That will destroy your health.
They rule now by fear.
Always saying, “The end could be near.”

What ever happened to living by faith?
And the Golden Rule that the Lord did saith?
They speak of worse case scenarios
While they eat their morning Cheerios.

They believe their 401K and insurance plans will save them.
They will not; it’s only by Him.
They talk of jobs nonstop.
They work ’til they pop, flop, and drop.

America the Cult rules the world
With its brainwashing media face.
The foundation is torn apart
With each little fear alert.

Don’t care what you think. I love America and feel that something is VERY wrong here and that I must call the American leadership out. Poem was written on 3/7/2007 while living abroad in Bulgaria as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Yes I’m back now and fighting the Good Fight.

Here’s my latest song I wrote and recorded last night. Enjoy!

World’s Angriest Hippie

You’re really a bit mad
You’re not a fad.
Not even bad.
Maybe just sad.

You keep us in line.
And doing fine.
We’re all mad too.
We’re all a little bit blue.

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

Instrumental break

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

You’re getting Understood.
It must feel good.
You’re music is the weapon.
Falling down from the internet zeppelin.

Keep your ideas flowing.
Your planted seeds are growin
The truth is your friend.
And it’s blowing in the wind.

Chorus

The world’s angriest hippie
Turning all our heads around.
Pushing all the buttons.

You’re just a bit mad
And not a fad
We’re sad.

I found this guy named Sean Kraft before Christmas who has apparently been on a Hunger Strike for 45 days.

45 days???

Yes.  I do not know him personally and have really no way of knowing for sure if it is true but it is worth the media looking into at the very least.

Why is he striking?

Because of the current situation in the U.S. The Government seems to want to take more and more control and it is ever increasingly hard to have a life, liberty and to pursue happiness. Some people probably don’t feel this control because maybe they are too zonked out, distracted, playing games, basically just going around in circles in the rat race, or for other unknown causes.

So I am gonna report on him. He is demanding to talk to the “We the People Foundation” and get in touch eventually with the Continental Congress of 2009 and have a 3 minute press conference.

The mission of the We The People Foundation is:

1. To protect, preserve and enhance the unalienable rights, liberties and freedoms of the people.
2. To teach people that under our system of governance all power comes from the people and all government is limited by our written constitutions.
3. To help people become better informed about the history and meaning of every provision of the Declaration of Independence and their State and federal constitutions.
4. To help people become better informed about what is really going on in government.
5. To help people become better informed about how to confront unconstitutional and illegal behavior by those wielding power in government at all levels.
6. To institutionalize vigilance by the ordinary, nonaligned citizen-voter-taxpayers.

Sean has been posting daily on his weight change and you can read more about him at his site:

Here’s a song I recorded today and I adapted the text of the Declaration of Independence. If you are an American and don’t recognize these words it is clearly sad. I changed it up a little but not much. LET’S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!

Please share this song everywhere.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
We’re all created equal,
And given by our Creator
certain unalienable rights,

life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
We are all created equal,
And given by our Creator
certain unalienable rights,

life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
